Protecting Your Private School
As a private school you are committed to excellence. You should expect no less from your insurance carrier. At DuRant Insurance we use only top rated insurance carriers for our Private School Insurance Program. Since no two schools are the same we don’t offer “cookie cutter” insurance policies. We tailor your program to fit your unique school. From covering the school nurse to the board of trustees to the administration and faculty to the students, we offer the capability to cover your entire school. Included are some of our offerings:
- Property – we cover everything from the buildings and contents to the football scoreboard and bleachers.
- General Liability – included but not limited to are Directors and Officers coverage, Educators Legal Liability, Employee Benefits Coverage, Employment Practices Coverage, Sexual Misconduct Coverage, Volunteers and more.
- Business Auto – covering your buses as well as employee vehicles used in business for the school. Also included are any vehicles the school hires or is non-owned.
- Workers Compensation – protection for your employees in the event of injury or accident.
In addition, we offer Comprehensive Risk Management tools from our school professionals. After writing the policy our Loss Control team will make a complete walk-through evaluation and give their recommendation for improvements to make your school a safer environment. While unexpected events and losses do occur we work with you to help prevent such events before they happen. Not only does this make for a safer school it makes your school more attractive to insurance carriers.
Finally, we offer our Student Accident policy. Student Accident can be written primarily in two ways – on a voluntary basis or on a full enrollment basis. We do not offer a voluntary program for two reasons. Problems occur when two children get hurt at school and one has Student Accident Coverage and one does not. Inevitably, it can lead to anger and resentment with the family that does not have the coverage. The other reason is that it leads to increased liability for the school when some are covered and some are not. We know this to be true and fully believe that full enrollment coverage is the best approach.
At DuRant Insurance we take a complete and extensive approach to writing insurance for private schools. Private School insurance is not a candidate for a “one size fits all” approach.
